Measurement of the distance "d0"
After switching on the Geo 5P level by rotating the side lever from the OFF position to the ON position, a perfectly vertical laser beam will be available, which will serve as a reference for measuring the distance between the inner side of the nearest rail and the fixed point.
To measure the distance, the telescopic gauge is used by placing the end equipped with the orthogonality plate beyond the rail to be measured and extending the staff until the trace of the laser light spot coincides with the measurement reference located on the back of the staff.
